A home that’s visually appealing and in good condition will attract potential buyers driving down the street. Such a home also shows better than a comparable property with an ungroomed lawn.  Everyone knows that there is only one chance to make a first impression.

You can spruce up your lawn by planting a few trees and plants that all thrive remarkably well in the Saskatchewan environment.  Also, make sure that your lawn's plants and vegetation are well cared-for and healthy.  So water that lawn and feed those bushes and plants.  It will make your home feel better as an added benefit.Use this checklist to view your property through an outsider’s eyes.

    * Are the lawn and shrubs well maintained?
    * Are there cracks in the foundation or walkways?
    * Does the driveway need resurfacing?
    * Are the gutters, chimney and walls in good condition?
    * Do the window casings, shutters, siding or doors need painting?
    * Are garbage and debris stored out of sight?
    * Are lawn mowers and hoses preperly stored?
    * Is the garage door closed?

A fresh paint job on a house is always a big crowd pleaser.  Choose a paint scheme that will be attractive to most of your potential buyers.  Conservative color schemes tend to work best as they are not likely to offend.  Fresh paint can also do wonders for the interior of your house.

You should probably stop right here because if you go any further (fixing up your house), you may not want to sell your house in the first place.
